Local moves are by the hour
Local moves are charged by the hour, from pickup to final destination. Like other movers in Boston area, we also charge travel time from our office to your pick-up address and, after the job is complete, from your your new location, or storage, back to our office. We offer a set rate for this time.
How is the hourly rate determined?
The hourly rate will be determined by the date of the move, the number of trucks, and the number of movers needed to complete the job. A customer service representative will be able to explain all the rates to you based on the number of items to be moved and the duration of storage in Boston area.
Other costs
The above rates do not include packing or materials (boxes, tape, wrapping paper, etc.). Any storage, of course, is extra.
Free delivery of boxes
We offer free delivery of boxes to your home in the greater Boston area, when you move with us.
Your free in-home estimate
Excellent Moving and Storage offers free in-home estimates for local movers! Whether you are moving locally within Boston Massachusetts, or to any other location in the continental United States, a friendly and professional sales representative will come to your home. He/She will be able to examine your belongings and work with you to determine the best access into and out of your home, how many men will be required, and the number of trucks needed, also the time required to complete the job, including travel time in Boston and beyond.
This in-home service also comes with a guarantee that the job will not exceed 10% of the original estimate. Accordingly, we share the results with you regardless of whether or not you hire Excellent Moving and Storage to do the move.
Help us correctly estimate your price quote
Have you ever heard of or experienced a horrifying situation where the move ended up costing 25 to 50 percent more than the estimated price? When we provide your personal quote over the telephone, we try our best to prevent this underestimating problem from arising, by offering you this tip: take a few minutes to make your list accurate and detailed showing the items that you intend to move. Walk through your home/office, and write down everything you have! Pay special attention to the number of boxes you may need.
This attention to details is what sets us apart from the other moving companies and can make all the difference between an accurate price estimate, and one that may change at the time of the move (should there be a significant difference in what you actually take). It is often better to overestimate, because you only pay for what the movers actually work, plus travel time.
